Lumachrome® prints bring unbelievable resolution, clarity, vibrancy, and dynamic range with an incredible almost 3D image quality that can appear backlit and holographic. Lumachrome® prints have brilliant colors, unsurpassed detail, ability to hold highlights, superior shadow luminosity, and a radiant glowing response under halogen lighting. These prints are striking "attention-getters" with a decidedly modern, sleek, and minimalist look!
Lumachrome® prints are created by printing the image on a transparency that is then sandwiched between 1/8" optically clear and UV limiting acrylic and a pure white protective backing. A 1.3" recessed floating metal frame is attached to the back of the print so that when hung, the print appears to "float" in front of the wall.
The Lumachrome® print is an enhanced archival process that accounts for all variables relating to longevity (>100 years when displayed properly) and image quality. Materials and processes are carefully selected for the best performance. Every detail, from adhesives to backing options, has been considered.
We are very pleased to be able to offer our images on stunning metal prints! Metal prints are high definition, photographic prints on aluminum sheets using a unique imaging technology. Our metal prints have a high gloss coating which produces a print with depth and an incredible level of detail. The reflective properties of the aluminum create deep rich blacks and highly saturated colors, with amazing depth of field. Metal prints give an added dimensionality to our images. These prints are clear, crisp, bright, vivid, and almost life-like! The metal prints are easy to clean, ready to hang, and built to last. Print permanence is rated at about 50 years when displayed properly. Metal prints can be cleaned with a damp microfiber cloth. Like the Lumachrome® prints, metal prints are also striking "attention-getters" with a modern, sleek, and minimalist look!
Metal prints are available in a “Float Mount”. Your metal print has a black anodized aluminum frame 1 3/8” thick attached to the back. With the “Float Mounted” metal prints, the black frame is recessed 3” on all sides so your print appears to be floating in front of the wall. Metal prints should be displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight.
Another beautiful option for your fine art print is the professional mounting style often referred to as "ColorPlak", "Duraplaq", or "ColorBox" mounting. These prints have a more subdued and elegant presentation than the bright and glossy acrylic and metal prints. We start with a traditional fine art paper print made with pigment inks. The print is then professionally dry mounted on a 1/4" thick medium density fiberboard (MDF) and then a special protective vinyl laminate is heat-pressed to the print, making it UV (80%), water, glare, and smudge resistant. The wood edges are beveled and trimmed with a black finished edge. As a result of the vinyl lamination process, the prints have vivid, almost radiant, colors with a luster finish that minimizes reflections!
As with metal prints, laminated prints are available as a “Float Mount”. For a Float Mount, the print is mounted to a 3/4" thick box frame that is recessed 2" from the edge of the print resulting in the appearance of your print "floating" in front of the wall. Laminated prints are easy to take care of and you can clean them with a damp soft cotton or microfiber cloth. Print permanence of laminated prints is rated at greater than 100 years for color and greater than 200 years for black & white when displayed properly.
Our canvas prints also provide a more subdued and elegant option for displaying fine art photography. Gallery wraps are designed to be “ready to hang” with no framing necessary. Canvas print permanence is rated at greater than 100 years when displayed properly. Our canvas prints are stretched around premium 1.5" deep stretcher bars and attached using stainless steel staples. Wire is added for hanging. Canvases won't crack when stretching, are abrasion resistant, and can be gently cleaned with a microfiber cloth.
For the great majority of our images, the image is wrapped around the sides of the stretcher bars for a professional look. For a few images, where the subject of the image is close to the edge of the photo, the wrapped sides will either be a mirror image of the photo to give the illusion of a continuous image on the sides of the wrap, or we will use a solid color (usually black) to finish off the sides. Canvas gallery wraps should be displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight.
Our fine art inkjet prints (giclées) are printed on heavy-weight fine art papers (for example Crane Museo Silver Rag or Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk Baryta papers) depending on availability. These are heavyweight semi-gloss papers that are optimized for pigment inks. We use Epson Ultrachrome or Canon Lucia inks which produce beautiful, vibrant color, and black & white prints. Fine art papers are manufactured to archival standards and the prints are very stable (when displayed properly) and have an estimated permanence rating of greater than 100 years for color and greater than 200 years for black & white making them truly archival.
Unlike inkjet prints, LightJet prints produce a true continuous tone photographic print. Lightjet prints have deep, vibrant, color and unmatched edge-to-edge sharpness. Unexposed silver-halide (AgX) photographic paper, such as Fuji Crystal Archive color C-print and Kodak Metallic photographic paper, is temporarily fixed on an internal drum where three digitally controlled lasers simultaneously expose the photo-sensitive emulsion on the paper with red, green, and blue laser light. The amount of light from each laser varies to provide specific color and density values for each pixel imaged to the print. The print is then processed using traditional photochemical means (usually RA4). After which, the photographic print is handled just as any other photo-print. Lightjet prints have an estimated permanence rating of >100 years in low light conditions and >30 years in bright light conditions when framed behind UV filtering glass or acrylic and displayed properly.
There are multitudes of options when it comes to mat and frame styles and colors. We feel that you should have your print matted and framed the way you want it and not be limited by the small number of options that we could offer. Because of this, and issues with shipping frames with glass, we do not offer traditional mounting, matting, or framing services. If you purchase a print, we recommend that you have it professionally and archivally framed as soon as possible. This will protect your print, enhance its longevity, and your choice of mat and frame styles and colors will really show it off!
Deciding what size print to get can be challenging without a frame of reference. Use this guide to help you choose how large of a print you would like:
We strive to produce the best possible prints available today and hope that you enjoy them for many, many years to come. To enhance your print’s longevity, all prints should be displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight. Inkjet and Lightjet paper prints should be framed as soon as possible to protect the print from physical and UV damage. When you have your print framed, make sure you request UV filtering glass or acrylic and use acid-free (archival) framing materials. Canvas prints can be gently dusted with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Metal, acrylic, and laminated prints can be gently wiped with a damp, soft microfiber or cotton cloth. Our prints are not designed to be displayed out doors.

Don’t see the size print you need? Chances are that we can make a custom size print for you! Please contact us with your requirements and we can let you know what is possible and work up a quote. Please be advised, however, that some of our images have an upper limit to how large they can be printed and still retain their quality. In order to ensure that only high quality prints are shipped to our customers, we reserve the right to place an upper size limit on any particular image. This usually isn’t a problem as we have printed many of our images at sizes up to 30 x 40” and they look great! If you need a size larger than that, or would like to discuss other options, let’s talk. Most likely we can accommodate you!
